Polygon API Documentation

eth_maxPriorityFeePerGas RPC method

eth_maxPriorityFeePerGas represents the maximum amount a user is willing to pay per gas to incentivize miners to include their transaction. This fee is paid to miners and is also known as the "tip". It's measured in wei per gas.

The value of maxPriorityFeePerGas is set by the user and can be adjusted to influence how quickly a transaction is mined. A higher maxPriorityFeePerGas will make a transaction more attractive to miners, increasing the likelihood it will be included in the next block.

maxPriorityFeePerGas is part of the total fee a user specifies for a transaction. The other part is baseFeePerGas, which is burned and not given to miners.

Returns

Estimated priority fee per gas - Hex string - The value of the priority fee needed to be included in a block.
